No, we are DEFINITELY NOT giving it another attempt with a pet
But...Our family has grown!
For a while I have been telling you that God is doing something in mine and Nathan's hearts that is hard to explain. He has been calling us to do something...to step out of the boat...to give our faith some "feet".
What you may not know is that Nathan and I have talked about adoption and foster care off and on for almost three years. After we lost Konner and were having trouble staying pregnant we began praying about what our future would hold as parents. Finally by Gods amazing grace we were able to get pregnant and stay pregnant with Karter and then again with Kolson. But even in the midst of having our own biological children there was something nagging at our hearts.
In the last month we began talking about fostering again. We went to see the Blind Side and that just deepened our quest for what it was that God was calling us to do.
2 weeks ago God called us to something...to someone!
This is Samantha...we call her Sam!
Sam is a senior in high school who needed somewhere to go. Through God's sovereignty we were able to meet Sam and she agreed to come and live with us! This is a new and exciting journey for all of us! Sam is now having to deal with three crazy little boys ( who adore her already). We are figuring out the logistics of everything and how things will work day to day. I can truly say that we feel blessed to have Sam in our home.
We have already enjoyed a late night baking session, a shopping trip, and she even endured all of the Christmas festivities with us!
Sam is very smart and has a laugh that is contagious. She is kind to my boys and a great help around the house. I can't wait to see all that God has planned for her!
Please pray for all of us as we venture into this new unknown territory!

I'm proud of you guys for stepping out in faith! I'm sure God is going to bless you all in this endeavor.
I miss you...we'll see you in a few days.
How awesome.....my heart is in that limbo stage as well. I constantly think about adopting or fostering. But Jim has to come on board with it. What a blessing it would be to be able to do this!
Love the story, love the photo of you and Sam...finally a girl! ;p God's timing is perfect (wondering if he plans on giving me another houseful...hmmmm) BTW..that would be GREAT with me...just sayin'!
So excited about this new chapter in your lives...Blessings abundant!: )
praying for you guys...I know you will bless Sam and she will bless all of you. :) you guys are such a sweet and inspiring family.
that is so great for you and Sam. Congrats and we will pray that you all adjust smoothly!
Soo awesome and inspiring. Praying for ya.
How exciting! My aunt did what you are doing when we were growing up, and we always considered Chris our cousin. He is still part of the family, and it started out 20 years ago when my aunt stepped out just like you did. Great job...you have added something wonderful to your family, and to her I am sure. I will be praying for a successful journey together!
