Intentional

I have said before that I like to read other blogs because I am inspired by the way God is working in the lives of everyday, ordinary people who have said "Yes" to the radical call of Christ.

Last week I was inspired while reading my dear friend Kathryn's blog. She is a wife and a mom but more than that she is a woman who seeks the Lord and wants to do His will.

This is the quote she posted last week that just won't leave my head...

"The family should be a closely knit group. The home should be a self-contained shelter of security, a kind of school where lives basic lessons are taught: and a kind of church where God is honored; a place where wholesome recreation and simple pleasures are enjoyed."----Billy Graham

Kathryn went on to talk about how this involved being intentional.

Much like everything else in life, we will never just wake up and be the woman we have always wanted to be. We must choose to take the extra time to be intentional about how we spend our time and our resources. We must choose to be intentional about how we treat others and the tone of voice we choose to use. We must choose to be intentional about what we allow into our minds and hearts.

The list could go on and on.

I have been challenged and inspired. I want to be more intentional about how I spend my time and I want to be more intentional about building our family and home into a place where God is honored...a place where the Holy Spirit loves to dwell.

I am not sure exactly what that looks like, but I do know that if I seek Him and truly trust Him, He will make the path straight before me.
