So long Spring Break

This Spring Break was great. I so enjoyed spending lazy mornings with the boys, playing T-ball in the back yard, going for walks, building forts, arts and crafts, and picnics in the backyard.
We didn't do anything elaborate or exciting...in fact we did quite the opposite...we had a GARAGE SALE.
This was a Spring Break where I got to spend lots of quality time with my favorite guys AND I was able to get a lot done. In one weeks time we managed what I like to call the "great move", that would be moving Karter and all of his things in to Kaden's room, which by the way, has gone really well. We have woken up to the sound of two laughing little boys every morning this week! We cleaned out a storage building, a storage room, and I went through ALL of the tubs full of boy clothes I have kept and re-organized and got rid of what I know K3 will never wear. We had a very successful garage sale (thanks for all of your hard work, babe) and we even got to go out on another date thanks to two sweet ladies in our church who volunteered to keep the boys...thank you Glenda and Sharon!! Two weekends in a row we got to have date nights...man we might get spoiled! Here are some snapshots of the week.

Karter wants to be just like Kaden...he can really hit pretty good

Toothpic picnic...I cut everything really small and we eat everything with toothpics...the boys love it and it is good small motor practice!

Our Bowling Adventure

Kaden has fallen madly in love with bowling on the Wii. So...we decided it might be fun to take the boys bowling for real. Let's just say bowling on the Wii and bowling for real are two totally different things. Besides the fact that we may all have lung cancer now, it cost $25 for the boys and Nathan to bowl one game...yep...one game. It was really fun for about the first two frames..then Karter got tired of waiting his turn and Kaden decided that Wii was much more fun because he knows how to throw a strike! By the time we left Kaden said he never wanted to go bowling again!:) We did however get some great photos of our little family outing.

Another Year Goes By

So today I am officially 28 years old. I am 2 years away from being 30, but to be honest, I am totally good with that. Looking back over the past 28 years I can honestly say that I am happy. Happy with where I have been and happy with where I am.
Now don't get me wrong...there are things I would change...like making so many more of my intentions realities instead just relying on "it's the thought that counts" (although, wouldn't it be great if that was what really counted). But truthfully I am doing what I always dreamed of doing.
I am married to the most wonderful man who loves me with all of his heart...even on the days when I know I am hard to love.
I have dreamed of being a mom for as long as I can remember and now I am the mom of 2 beautiful boys with one more on the way!
We are serving at wonderful church who really loves me for me and doesn't expect me to be the typical pastor's wife (cause let's face it...I'm not). I am so blessed to be serving our Lord at FBC Malakoff with some of the most wonderful people.
God has been so good to me.
My goal for year 28...to get back to the basics...loving God and my family with ALL of my heart!

Thank you to everyone who made this such a special day for me! You are all so awesome!:)

It Makes Me Want to Shout!

Not only is today Friday but it is also the start of Spring Break! Nathan and I will be kicking off Spring Break with a long awaited DATE NIGHT. Nathan is flying in from Tennessee tonight and I will be picking him up. My parents are in town so we get to have a real date...no worrying about finding a babysitter or trying to rush home...a real date! Can you tell it has been a while?:)
Other then that Spring Break should be pretty calm. We are starting to get things ready for the upcoming arrival of K3! We will be moving Karter into Kaden's room and having a gargae sale at the end of the week! If you need any toys PLEASE feel free to stop by next Friday or Saturday.

Have a great Friday!

Ready or Not...Here it Comes...

TAKS that is. If I could have picked any music to start this post with I would have chosen the theme from Jaws!

Tomorrow all across our great state students will spend the day bubbling answer documents. That's right an entire school day (longer for a few) will be spent testing their skills in reading and writing.
At this point there is nothing more to do...I have taught them all that I know. Now, I will once again lift them up to our Lord in prayer and trust that they will use the tools they have to succeed.
To be honest I am excited that it will be over and we will be able to get back to just enjoying reading.
Please say a prayer for the students and teachers you know tomorrow!:)
